A phased re-opening of the Kelowna Family Y, H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre and the Downtown Y, beginning with health and fitness, will be determined in collaboration with the City of Kelowna and an announcement will be made as soon as possible. Learn more

The following centres are currently closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Kelowna Family YMCA
  • Kelowna Downtown YMCA
  • H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre

YMCA Child Care centres and community program locations including the Pandosy YMCA, will remain open at this time, with extra precautions taking place to keep our Y community members healthy.

We will not be charging any fees for programs and services during this time. All YMCA memberships have been put on hold and automatic payments have been paused until we re-open. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time and hope to welcome you all back soon.

During this time we have limited staff resources and are unable to process transactions. All memberships have been placed on hold, and no further payments will be withdrawn until services resume.

Should you wish to make any changes, please contact your centre directly once our facilities reopen.

If you purchased a student membership and were unable to use it in full due to temporary closures, we will honour a credit for time lost, which you can take full advantage of once we reopen our doors.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope to welcome you back soon!

YMCA child and youth programs and camps including Karate, Tennis, Active Arts, Girls Unite, Boys in Action and other recreational programs have been cancelled until further notice.

As well, lifeguard courses (advanced aquatics) and fitness instructor training have been postponed at this time.

We will work to provide details on new program and course dates as we get closer to reopening.

For anyone who has registered in a paid program that has been cancelled due to temporary closures, a credit will be placed on their account for future use. Refunds will be issued on request. We hope to welcome all of our program participants back again soon!

We understand that wellness in spirit, mind and body is more important than ever during this challenging time. We encourage everyone to remain physically active and get outside.  We're also offering some virtual services free of charge to the community, including live and on-demand fitness videos.

The decision to close our health, fitness and aquatic facilities has not been made lightly, as it directly affects over 17,000 members, program and camp participants, plus several hundred staff and volunteers. As a ‘people first’ organization, we are committed to supporting our employees to the best of our ability during this closure.

Our community counts on the YMCA in good times and bad times. Now is no different. Most of our doors may be temporarily closed, but our heart is wide open. Learn more about what the YMCA of Okanagan is doing to support our community during this time of crisis and how you can help on our opportunities to give page.

To our valued donors of the YMCA, we extend our sincerest thank you for the impact you are making on our local community as we reach out to those in currently in need and ensure those community members most affected will have access to Y programs and services for their health and wellbeing once this pandemic is behind us.

To our valued YMCA members, by allowing us to activate the payment of your monthly membership fee as a tax-deductible donation, you are helping us to pivot our work to support you and the community. Now more than ever, our financial assistance program will need solid footing in order to lift those members most impacted by the COVID health and economic challenges.
