Our charity is responding to COVID-19 including temporarily closing all YMCA recreation facilities during this time. Child care, virtual early years community services and career development services will continue to run. The most recent information can be found at ymcaokanagan.ca/COVID19

The Lake Okanagan Insurance Society (L.O.I.S.) members are more than ensuring every child in need coming to the YMCA of Okanagan has an opportunity to participate — they are ‘insuring’ it with a recent donation of $5,000 to the local charity.

“We all know the challenges our community faces, especially amongst children who are facing seemingly insurmountable gaps in learning and healthy living,” says Rob Morton, L.O.I.S. President. “Our organization feels the programs and financial assistance offered by the YMCA truly helps the most vulnerable in our community.”

Last year, over 20,000 children were served in YMCA preschool, before and after school care, camp and recreation programs. One out of five of these children were only able to participate because of the generosity of donors.
