  • Bollywood Gala changes young lives with incredible $97,455 donation

    The Gopal Family’s Bollywood Gala Fundraiser, presented by CapriCMW, took place last weekend, raising an astonishing $97,455! The sold-out gala’s event proceeds will directly benefit two of the YMCA of Okanagan’s programs for high risk populations, Beyond the Bell and the Young Parent Program, both aimed at changing lives for local youth.


  • UBC and YMCA partner to offer free health assessments in community

    Adults and Seniors can access free health assessments this month to equip them with knowledge and strategies to improve their overall health and lower health risks. The assessments are offered by UBC in combination with the YMCA of Okanagan.

  • New preschool spaces available in Penticton

    Queen’s Park YMCA Child Care Centre is now offering Preschool program for children ages 3 to 5. The YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum places an emphasis on outdoor activity and natural playscapes as well as experienced, nurturing teachers, to ensure children are equipped with the tools they need to succeed.

  • Kelowna tosses $3,415 in support of the YMCA at Rockets puck toss

    The Kelowna Rockets charity puck toss raised $3,415 for the YMCA of Okanagan to subsidize camps, swim lessons and other recreational programs for local low-income children and families. On behalf of the residents at BlueSky, Melcor Developments donated $1,250 on top of puck sales to ensure the Y remains accessible to everyone, including those who struggle financially.

  • Lions support local kids at the Y

    The Kelowna-Rutland Lions Club members visited the Kelowna Family YMCA with a big cheque that will help many more children and youth in need. 

  • Thank you for being Moved to Give!

    The 2019 YMCA Move to Give Campaign has reached its goal! Together, our members raised over $40,000 by personal donation and event participation to help provide financial assistance to those who need it most.

  • Missionwood holiday feast supports local YMCA children

    Missionwood Retirement Resort raised $5,350 through their annual Gift of Giving Luncheon, in support of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. 100 per cent of proceeds from their annual Gift of Giving luncheon was donated to enable local low-income children and families to participate in Y programs. 

  • Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign delivers $40,000 worth of smiles to kids in YMCA Child Care

    Everyone in Kelowna enjoyed a cookie in support of Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign which raised an incredible $40,000 for the YMCA of Okanagan Healthy Snacks Program. These funds will help the Y serve nutritious snacks to all children in their care, including the 1 in 4 children whose families struggle to afford any snacks at all.

  • Valley First gives teen parents a strong start

    $13,500 donation from the Valley First Community Endowment will allow the YMCA's Young Parents Program to give young mothers parenting support, food, child care and other necessities to help them thrive. 

  • Interior Savings invests in senior’s health at the YMCA

    Interior Savings invests in seniors health with a $17,521 donation in specialty equipment to the Kelowna Family Y.
