  • Tim Hortons® Smile Cookie Campaign is Back, Supporting YMCA of Okanagan

    Smile Cookie week runs from September 14-20, with local Tim Hortons restaurants in Kelowna and West Kelowna supporting the YMCA of Okanagan through Smile Cookie sales. The full dollar from every Smile Cookie sold will support the Y’s Healthy Snack Program, providing nutritious snacks for kids in Y child care programs, some of which struggle to access nutritious snacks at all. 


  • YMCA and H2O Pools to Open August 10

    The YMCA of Okanagan will welcome swimmers back to their pools at the Kelowna Family Y and H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre starting Monday, August 10. Aquatic offerings will include open swim time, lane swimming and Aquafit classes to help community members cool off and get back to their healthy routines.

It has been particularly painful for members of our Black, Indigenous, Asian Canadian and racialized communities, including members of our team. As a charity embracing diversity and social inclusion, we believe that Canada and BC is one of the best places in the world to live. But we know it’s not the best place for everyone.

    Kelowna City Councillor, Loyal Wooldridge, has come up with a unique way to help the local economy tackle challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Wooldridge has conceptualized the MADE IN YLW campaign, designed to support small business and charity alike.

  • YMCAs Re-Opening Soon

    A phased re-opening of the Kelowna Family Y, H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre and the Downtown Y, beginning with health and fitness, will be determined in collaboration with the City of Kelowna and an announcement will be made as soon as possible.

  • YMCA increases child care hours including weekends for Essential Service Workers in in Penticton

    The YMCA of Okanagan is committed to supporting Okanagan communities during this pandemic. In order to address a community need in Penticton, the charitable organization is now offering extended child care hours for Essential Service Workers. 

  • YMCA cancels Healthy Kids Day for 2020

    YMCA Healthy Kids Day is a national Y initiative with the goal of bringing families together to engage in fun, active play, and learn healthier habits to help them grow and thrive. The Y has cancelled the event to ensure the health and safety of community members during the COVID crisis. 

  • YMCA offers Out of School Care at Kelowna Family Y

    The YMCA of Okanagan announced today that it will be offering licensed out of school care for those children of parents who are performing essential services in Kelowna.
